It's been some time since I've been here, but we haven't been back because of some pretty major details. The bar drains had a distinctly sewage-y smell coming from them, and it hit me like a brick wall when I walked in. The music was very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation- don't bring any aging family members here, because they won't be able to hear you! The food was sub par at best... We are talking a table of 12 where two thirds of the table didn't really like their dishes. I hate to say I left feeling yucky. But I was pregnant, and probably more sensitive than some. I will say that the pics of the specials on FB lately have been looking kinda good, but it would probably take a Groupon or special of some kind to get me back through those doors again!
Our first date was BBC and it has never disappointed
Good beer selection with lots of variety. Food was good and service was great. I would go again and even consider their mug club.
Visited on a trip to Louisville. Food and beverage was good. Good looking place. Enjoyed it!
Good selection of craft beers on tap. Service may be slow at the bar.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Sean is the man! Ask for him.
Great food and service. The Brown is a must. The clock was bullshit.
what's not to love about good food and beer?
Our server preston rocked. He truly made our experience. Great food...great atmosphere.
LOVE the BBC. A regular spot for our young family. We usually meet up with another young family on the weekends - sit outside so the kids have a little space to be loud. Great veggie options. We get lost in the Mediterranean platter appetizer with roasted veggies and falafels, not to mention the IPAs. Then our hand made veggie burger or (spicy) bean burrito comes - it's our weekly treat !
Great food; I don't drink alcohol but I hear they have great beer as well.
Nice staff, nice place, food was pretty good but the steak burger was nothing special for $12.
Really great burgers and fires. Just a tad bit pricey and lack of parking. Also for some reason the servers always forget to refill my drinks.
Good beer, decent food. Fun atmosphere.
Very good beer and meade. Friendly service. Nice menu of pub food.
Beer is largely good with an improved variety of styles, but the food is barely decent and the menu has recently changed to drop the only interesting options. I only go on Wort Hog night for the cheap beers. Wait staff is always nice and seating is plentiful.
Of course the beer is fantastic, but the food was slightly underwhelming. Overall it was a pretty good experience.
Nice beer variety! The place was totally packed but our server made sure we didn't run out of beer. Food was awesome, nice vegetarian options. Fish tacos were most excellent.
Fun place to be, great atmosphere, fun people all around
An established microbrewery that has stock fans and seasonal taps. Good ffod
We enjoyed it. The burger was awesome and the garlic herb fries were great. They have pretty good beer too.
Good food, great beer. Excellent service!
Bob Peters here,The beer is great. The burgers are killer. The fries are to die for. I ate there 4 days ago and can still taste the awesomeness in my burps! 6 thumbs way up here folks. Living Large - Bob Peters.
Soft pretzel and beer cheese. Order it.
Great food, great service, great home brews so good.
Great beer, great atmosphere. Kid friendly.
Great Philly cheese steak but...We were told by our server that St Matthews location is shutting down after Super Bowl Sunday 2017. :(
Not impressed with the food or the atmosphere. Wanted to try something different. The food was halfway decent, but not enough to go back. It definitely didn't have that friendly feel. The lighting was awful. Definitely wouldn't go back.
Amazing food. The BBQ pork sandwich is a must try.
I wanted to rip this review limb from limb -- as you do a lover you know too well. I've been a patron -- on and off -- for more than 20 years, since my older brother was on the first staff. At this point, I don't know if it's good or not. What it is is a beer landmark in Louisville. Before your hipsters were in middle school or Colorado was barrel-aging everything to taste like dirt or sour was hip again -- and BBC makes all that stuff, too -- they had a list of very good microbrews. Remember when Killian's Honey and Lienenkugel's Berry Weiss had just arrived on the scene and folks considered that "interesting"? When Heineken, Beck's, and Guinness were the import choices? When microbrew wasn't a word? These folks had the innovative foresight to know it would be -- they made them before that. And for that, it's worth swinging through for a beer. Oh, and the ever-changing menu ain't half bad either. Give 'em a try.
Love this place! Great food and brews.
Good: Wide, wide, menu surly to please everyone in the crowd. The menu is online, so check it out for yourself. Great looking dining areas and I have experienced good service at this location. Free wi-fi.Cautions: None. This local chain is doing very well, IMO. Note: My review is based on food, not brews.
The food is pretty good, but over the past few years the quality of the beer has been uneven at best. The beer is okay now (though not great), but it still isn't quite what it used to be.
Big fan of the beer and service at BBC. Came with a party of 7, three of which were kids 3 and under. We were seated in an area where a few other families were later seated--very cool to have such a family friendly brewpub. Food was standard brewpub fare, nothing to write home (or a Google review?) about but did the job just fine. It was more about the beer and atmosphere anyway. Sampler platter was fairly priced at $7.50 for 8 samples if my memory serves me correctly. The bourbon barrel stout was far and above the best one, and a full pour was a steal at $3.50!
We like the $5 lunch specials. The food is good but gets expensive for lunch if you don't get a lunch special. Overall good.
Awesome food and awesome beer. I wish I lived closer so I could join the mug club!
Turned into more-or-less a common sports bar a while back. Very crowed and loud if ANY games are on. Other times it's...sort of easy to get in and a nice place to meet up with friends.
Friendly people good brew and food, band outside on the patio cards game on the big screen.
Love this place, my favorite hang out spot
Great location, great selection. Went with the flight of 7 and the pub plate. No complaints. Even the IPA was good. Friendly staff is very easy on the eyes. Brews are fresh and tasty for any palate.
The new menu is delicious. I've been working my way down the menu and have yet to find a sub par meal. The brews are consistent. Everything is good.
I love this place. Excellent food home brewed beer and great service. The burgers are delicious and it's a great place to try out some new local beer.
While the beer quality has declined over the years, the food is still good and the staff is friendly. And you cannot beat the Wort Hog club for value!
Great beers on tap with a good rotating seasonal selection.
BBCis a great place to be if you want to try new beers and the food is very good as well...we have went with a group of us and we all enjoyed it there..
Closed now but was a great place...
Very very busy. Was not waited on until I grabbed someone's attention. Got a $10 pizza that was not that great. Pretty nice atmosphere, though.
Good food options, their beer is good. Reasonably priced! Nice atmosphere.
Great local spot with good music, beer, and food.
Bad food. Very Slow service. I ordered 5 appetizers. They all were bland. Some were cold. There for over 2 hours.
